The Standard for Clinicians' Interview in Psychiatry (SCIP)
The SCIP is a new, reliable, and valid assessment tool for diagnosing adult psychiatric disorders. It generates diagnoses that are compatible with the criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
The SCIP was developed as a measurement-based care (MBC) tool for clinicians to diagnose mental disorders, assess their severity, and support clinical decision-making. It aids in determining patient admission, discharge, medication adjustments, and other treatment decisions.
The SCIP consists of 18 clinician-administered (CA) scales covering a wide range of adult symptom domains, including anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, posttraumatic stress,
depression, mania, delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thoughts, aggression, negative symptoms, alcohol use, drug use, attention deficit, hyperactivity, anorexia, binge eating, and bulimia. Additionally, 15 self-administered (SA) versions and 8 research versions of the SCIP scales have been developed for these symptom domains. The SCIP scales are reliable, validated, and published in major scientific journals.
